www.SchoolTipline.com to sponsor Alex Bowman for remainder of 2013 Season “Whether in person or on the Internet, bullying is a real issue that effects every kid. I am honored to represent SchoolTip-line.com to millions of people each week on the track…”—Alex Bowman NASCAR driver, Alex Bowman and SchoolTipline.com have announced a joint venture where the 19-year old driver will become the face of the company’s “Driving Away Bullies” campaign. The announcement was made by Kevin Wright CEO of RightWay Nutrition, entrepreneur and philanthropist, whose gracious donation is funding the campaign. A director and board member of the Safe To Talk Foundation, Wright along with his wife Annette, helped to create the campaign whose mission it is to provide a safe haven and outlet for kids, who are being bullied, while providing a firm backdrop for suicide prevention.SchoolTipline.com was founded as a platform to give students, parents, and faculty alike an outlet to report bullying, weapon possession, drug use, etc. in schools. Completely anonymous, students can report bullying and other incidents via text messages. Administrators receiving the texts can respond, opening bridges of two-way communication. This system empowers students to make positive changes, so schools can return to a safe place of learning. The relationship between Bowman and SchoolTipline.com will run throughout the 2013 Nationwide Series season and commences Friday, April 12th at the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. Bowman’s RAB Racing #99 car will be sporting a brand new look, fully branded for the SchoolTipline.com.Wright is donating SchoolTipline.com’s services to Gene Pike Middle School in Justin, Texas beginning with a school wide assembly this Thursday, April 11th at 2 pm. Bowman will accompany Wright to the school where they will speak to the student body to ensure the kids know how to fully utilize SchoolTipline.com, thus making the school a safer place to report bullying and promote suicide prevention. Bowman will reaffirm his commitment to this cause by speaking to middle school students in each city the Nationwide Series runs for the remainder of the season.Bowman said, “As a teenager, it’s still fresh in my mind what kids of all ages go through when confronted with bullying. Whether in person or on the Internet, bullying is a real issue that effects every kid. I am honored to represent SchoolTipline.com to millions of people each week on the track, and to be able to have the opportunity to look kids in the eye each week to share my passion. I want to let students know there is a safe place where they can report trouble, find solutions and understand that they are not alone.” Wright was introduced to Bowman via Shark Tank’s Daymond John, his good friend and business associate. In addition to putting Wright and Bowman together, John consulted on the branding of the car and fire suit in light of the partnership with SchoolTipline.com.Wright describes his motivation for participating by saying: “Daymond John and I are close friends and have had some very successful business dealings in the past. After he invited me to a few races to meet Alex, I realized Daymond was right when he was quoted in the USA Today saying ‘Alex is a Rock Star!’ Along with Daymond and my wife Annette, we created the “Driving Away Bullies” campaign. The combination of Daymond John, Alex Bowman, and the NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule truly provides SchoolTipline.com all the tools needed to successfully run this promotion to combat bullying on a national platform.”

Every once in a while, a band comes along with a name that just rolls off the tongue. Wobblesauce is one of those bands. Try saying it three times over and it only puts a smile on your face. Then you listen to their music and it adds a whole new dimension to their name. Their new EP, the first of two, is aptly named Obstacle Illusions: Part One. Band members include Michael McCarthy on keys, Jake Boynton on bass, Michael Hallock on guitar, and Kyle Ruggieri on drums. Mike Greenfield, of Lotus, says of the band, “Wobblesauce blends an interesting and unique mix of progressive rock and electronica. Be sure to catch them on the road, and check out their new EP.”Diving right in, the first track, “Highway Hypnosis,” grabs the listener straight out of the gate. Wrenching you from your seat, this tune is stacked with gritty guitar work, intense keys, and heavy beats that take you on a mystical ride. This quick paced opener wastes no time in grabbing the listener’s attention. Midway through, the keyboard/guitar mix extends the range of intensity to heights that blow you away, while Boynton grabs the bass by the balls and delivers exploratory bombs, bringing the tune on a wild ride. The tight tones, mixed with synchronized interjections of just the right attitude, create a massive first track. If light shows were music, this track would be what’s created. “Moon Rips” continues the elegant perfection of jamtronica. Heavy on piano, and dripping with layered keyboard of varying sounds, this track carries the listener into a soothing wave of both rocking guts and calmer notes. Don’t be fooled though, as Hallock unforgivingly rips into it midway with intense guitar that really opens up the song. Don’t forget to breathe while listening because, by track two, your face might be melted.Wobblesauce does not hold back as they head into “Grawlix.” This extensive tune features the best of everything. McCarthy’s magic on the keys shines through, as Hallock’s guitar makes a point to heighten the senses. The band brilliantly apply a sample of singer Bright Lights vocals throughout. Her angelic, yet mysterious, tone create wildly colorful and emotional vibes. Ruggieri’s masterful drum skills carry the backbone of this exceptional track. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself hitting the repeat button immediately once this beauty of a tune ends. The EP wraps up with “Rift.” This tightly composed piece is crammed with chunks of massive energy thrown from the guitar, deep bass tones, and swirling electronic strokes. When the very last note drops, the listener can finally catch their breath, though leaves the ears begging for more. This band’s music has clearly matured over time, and this EP proves it. Michael Travis, of String Cheese Incident, stated, “Wobblesauce has really come of age. So much discipline and power. A very compelling confluence of disparate sonic elements and styles.” The impressive ability shown by all members of the band, throughout this intricately designed EP, make this album an outstanding addition to any music lovers collection. It’s highly suggested to listen to Obstacle Illusions with headphones, which allows the ears to soak in the full depth of musical layers throughout this EP. You won’t be disappointed. A recent interview with Derek Trucks revealed his lack of interest in reuniting with the Allman Brothers Band, as rumors swirl about that group’s return to the stage in 2017. A second interview with Ultimate Classic Rock digs a bit deeper into Trucks’ rationale for avoiding the Allmans in lieu of his own band, Tedeschi Trucks Band.Says Trucks, “Well, I get those group texts every once and while. But I don’t know how far down the road they are looking. I do know how far down the road I am. I’ve moved on.”When asked if he doesn’t want to reunite because it would be too hard to juggle both ABB and TTB, Trucks said, “My calendar will keep me busy. But it’s not even the calendar. I feel like we went out on the right note, and if anything is being put together, it’s probably not to enhance the legacy. It might be more pocket-driven, and I’m not interested in that. There’s enough cynicism in the world, and I’m not going to contribute to it.”He also reveals another motivation for focusing solely on the Tedeschi Trucks Band. “I figured out that when you’re doing these other gigs, like working with the Allmans or touring with [Eric] Clapton, you can only grow so much. If you’re playing a city with Clapton, the Allmans and your solo band you’re splitting things up. It’s not until you’re fully invested in one project that you can see how far you can go.”Fortunately for us, he’s been able to go quite far with Tedeschi Trucks Band. Trucks says the band really started gelling when bassist Tim Lefebvre joined in 2013, and they haven’t looked back since! You can read the full interview here.
