From AL.com:Alabama State Trooper Cpl. Jimmy Harrell said the driver of a commercial vehicle carrying some kind of explosive material was traveling eastbound when he possibly blew a tire and the truck overturned on its side.It then veered into oncoming traffic in the westbound lane and collided with an SUV carrying the woman and the infant. Both have been confirmed dead. The truck driver was flown to UAB Hospital’s Trauma Center. Both Paul Finebaum and fellow SEC Network personality Laura Rutledge attended the funeral for Tammy Bullard. While in attendance, Finebaum delivered a message from Terry Saban, Alabama head coach Nick Saban’s wife..@finebaum & @LauraMRutledge attended memorial service for Tammy Bullard today.Paul: “Terry Saban called me to offer condolences from her & her husband.”Prayers to an @AuburnFootball family from @AlabamaFTBL 1st lady #Classyhttps://t.co/6PjdBa0Dbx@GregSankey @SECNetwork pic.twitter.com/olPt0UL9hp— Rick Karle (@RickKarle) November 21, 2018More on Finebaum’s appearance, from WBRC’s Rick Karle:“It was very thoughtful of Paul Finebaum & Laura Rutledge of the SEC Network to attend today’s memorial service in Columbiana, AL for Finebaum caller Tammy Renae Bullard & Tammy’s 3-year-old granddaughter (both Paul & Laura wanted to be there without fanfare). When something like this happens, Tide & Tiger fans unite, and a perfect example comes from the Southeastern Conference star himself: Paul says that he received a call over the weekend from Terry Saban. Miss Terry passed along condolences from both herself & Nick, & told Paul that they were there for Tammy’s family. Prayers to the world’s biggest Auburn Tigers fan from the Alabama Football first lady. That, my friend, is what class is all about. RIP Tammy- I hope Paul’s heartfelt words helped ease some of the pain of your family members, and remember that both Tide & Tiger fans are praying for you & those who love you. Here’s a big “War Eagle” to you!”That is a very nice gesture by Finebaum. His callers are a huge part of what makes his show a unique entity down in SEC country, and Tammy was one of the two or three staples in those ranks. Finebaum would probably be the first to tell you that.
